Our January presentation was given by Tony Ryan, Technical Director of Kingspan’s Insulated Panels division.

Focussing on the fire testing and real live fire performance of external envelope systems, this lecture covered the difference between metal façade insulated panel systems and site assembled built-up systems including rain screen.   Those attending left with an understanding of the process behind the fire testing of insulated panels for fire safety and asset protection, looking at how these behave in real fire scenarios.  Tony also covered property insurance requirements and relevant Building Regulation requirements for Ireland, as well as the UK.
